Wow! I had a similar experience with an extremely long labor at home, ending in a hospital birth (although that's what we planned on). I remember experiencing so many of those same emotions. Although mine was at Kaiser, and they are much less enthusiastic about low-intervention births. It's amazing what our bodies (physical and emotional) can accomplish when really, truly pushed to the limit.
